Skoda have released a few images of the VisionC concept ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4. The concept provides an early look as to what an Octavia Coupe might look like.
While VW has a coupe variant on the Passat (called Passat CC), Skoda wishes to do one on the Octavia. The five-door coupe sports triangular headlights and foglights, while the rear design has a hint of Audi to it. Given that its a coupe, it naturally gets frameless windows.
The concept, like the new Octavia, is based on VW's MQB platform. Its powered by a 1.4-liter TSI engine capable of running on petrol and CNG. The engine outputs 108 hp and when run on CNG, emits a mere 91 g/km of CO2.
Prof. Dr. h.c. Windfried Vahland, Skoda CEO, said -
We are signalling the next stage in the evolution of ŠKODA's design language with ‘ŠKODA VisionC’, and thus highlighting the dawn of the brand. The vehicle demonstrates the company's outstanding design and engineering expertise, and underpins the dynamism and value of one of the world's longest-established automotive companies.
