Mahindra showcased an electric version of its Maxximo mini van at the hybrid pavilion of the Auto Expo. Powered by a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor), the Maxximo EV produces 20 hp and 62 Nm of torque. The drive is transmitted via a transaxle gearbox with 2 forward speeds.
Mahindra says the Maxximo EV has a range of 90 km at its gross vehicle weight (which is rated at 2,165 kg). Using an on-board high-frequency charger, it takes 8 hours to charge the batteries of the passenger carrier. The Maxximo EV can achieve a top-speed of 55 km/h and has a maximum gradability rating of 18 percent.
At the front, Mahindra has equipped the mini van with disc brakes, while the rear gets drum brakes with regenerative braking. It gets a manual steering unit (rack and pinion system).
The Maxximo EV was developed by Mahindra Reva. Mahindra could launch this version of the Maxximo soon.
