IAB Reader's Choice Car of the Year, 2-Wheeler of the year results

The results are out for the Indian Autos Blog Reader’s Choice Car of The Year and Two-Wheeler of The Year 2013.

This is one award ceremony where we did absolutely nothing! Instead, we let you, the reader, pick your favorite car and two-wheeler that was launched last year through a poll widget placed on the website sidebar. Visitors were allowed to choose up to five cars and five two-wheelers. We ran the poll from the evening of December 31, 2013 to January 29, 2014 and now its time to announce the results.

A total of 4,273 votes were registered for the Car of The Year, while 3,338 votes were registered for the 2-Wheeler of the year.

Four-wheels was represented by the BMW 1 Series, Mercedes A Class, Chevrolet Sail, Chevrolet Enjoy, Hyundai Grand i10, Mahindra Verito Vibe, Ford EcoSport, Honda Amaze, Jaguar F-Type, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GL Class, Nissan Terrano, Rolls Royce Wraith, Skoda Octavia and the Volvo V40 Cross Country.

And the winner is.......the Ford EcoSport! Our statistics reveal that the EcoSport got 17.4% of the votes, while the Honda Amaze came a close second with 12.1%. In fact, the Amaze just nudged past the Hyundai Grand i10 which got 12.07% of the votes. Completing the Top 5 cars are the Skoda Octavia with 9.5% of the votes and the Range Rover Sport with 8.44% of the votes.

Moving on to two-wheels. You, the jury, had to choose between the Bajaj Discover 100 M, Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Honda Activa i, Hyosung Aquila Pro, Hyosung GT650 R, Kawasaki ZX-10 R, the ZX-14 R, the Ninja 300, KTM Duke 390, Mahindra Centuro, Royal Enfield Continental GT and the TVS Jupiter.

With a colossal vote share of 20.4%, the reader’s choice two-wheeler of the year is the KTM Duke 390! The Royal Enfield Continental GT came second with 16.5%.
