DSK Hyosung has announced that it would launch two more 250 cc models this year.
A report on Autocar Professional has the company’s chairman saying that the models can be expected between October and December 2014. The company showcased, amongst other models, the GD 250N and the Comet 250 at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2014 and these are the two models lined up for India this year, the report says.
Hyosung GD 250N
The Hyosung GD 250N is likely to compete against the KTM Duke 200 in pricing. It gets a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 249 cc engine with fuel injection that develops 28 hp, mated to a six-speed transmission. The sportsbike also gets 17-inch wheels, a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear.
A four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 249cc single-cylinder engine with fuel injection develops 28 bhp, and comes matched to a six-speed transmission. Featuring 17-inch wheels, the GD 250N gets a fully digital dashboard, 300 mm petal type disc in the front and a 230 mm petal disc for the rear.
Hyosung GT250 Comet
To compete with the Honda CBR250 R and the Suzuki Inazuma, the GT250 Comet gets a twin-cylinder 248 cc engine that produces 30 hp at 10,500 rpm and peak torque of 20.6 Nm at 7,300 rpm. The bikes gets inverted telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear.
The Comet name is familiar to India as a previous generation model was brought out by Kinetic almost 10 years ago and later discontinued. The bike features split seats and disc brakes at both ends.
