Hero Motocorp unveiled the Hero Xtreme Sports and the Hero Dash scooter prior to the Auto Expo 2014. Both products will have their market launches by October this year, Indian Autos Blog was updated by the company.
Hero Xtreme Sports
The Xtreme Sports is powered by an air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder, 149.2 cc engine which produces 15.2 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The transmission is a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle uses a hydraulic, telescopic type suspension at the front and a rectangular swingarm with a 5 step adjustable gas reservoir at the rear. A 240 mm disc brake is provided at the front while the rear gets a drum brake as standard, or a 220 mm disc as optional.
The Xtreme Sports will be launched in the first quarter of the next fiscal year, which means we should be able to see it in showrooms by August this year.
Hero Dash
The Hero Dash is an upcoming Honda Activa rival. Its powered by a 111 cc forced air-cooled, four-stroke engine which develops 8.44 hp at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. Features in the Dash include Integrated Braking System (IBS), service due and side stand indicator, tubeless tires, an external fuel lid, a mobile charging socket and an under-seat storage light. Expect to see the Dash launch by October this year.
