The Hero SimplEcity was revealed at the Auto Expo 2014. The lightweight "urban" electric motorcycle is aimed at personal transportation say Hero Motocorp.
The SimplEcity features an electric hub motor which produces 4 kW of maximum power. Power is supplied by a Li-ion 1 kWh battery rated at 51 volts. With this, the SimplEcity can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 9.8 seconds and achieve a top-speed of 60 km/h. The SimplEcity weighs a mere 35 kg.
The SimplEcity comes with features such as a removable battery pack for the convenience of recharging. Another feature is the dashboard that is delivered through the rider’s smart phone through a free SimplEcity application. The phone is mounted on the handlebars. A “walk’ mode lets the rider roll the SimplEcity effortlessly while walking. The rear wheel of the concept feautures regenerative braking through an electric motor.
Apart from the SimplEcity, Hero unveiled a 620 cc motorcycle, a Hydrogen fuel cell concept and a cafe racer inspired Splendor Pro.
