The Piaggio Group showcased the Aprilia brand at the Auto Expo. Aprilia got along their RSV4 R ABS to the show, and it was only a couple of months ago that the bike was updated at the EICMA (International Motorcycle Exhibition).
The RSV4, as its name suggests, is powered by a liquid-cooled 65-degree V-4 engine which gets four valves per cylinder and a double overhead camshaft. The 999.6 cc unit produces 184 hp at 12,500 rpm and 117 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, paired to a 6-speed transmission.
The RSV4 gets 43 mm Sachs upside down fully adjustable forks at the front and Sachs piggyback shock absorber with adjustable length and spring preload for the rear. Also seen are dual 320 mm discs at the front and a 220 mm disc for the rear.
The bike gets features such as aTC (Aprilia Traction Control, which automatically adjusts to different types of tyres, with 8 settings), aWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control, with three settings), aLC (Aprilia Launch Control with 3 settings) and aQS (Aprilia Quick Shift for faster gearshifts without closing the throttle or using the clutch).
