Our friends at Overdrive are churning the rumourmill with TVS’s Auto Expo lineup. The speculation is that the TVS Victor nameplate could return to the market after a premiere at the show. The bike putting on the once-admired brand would be positioned again in the commuter segment.

TVS has clarified to Overdrive that there would be no products or concepts from the TVS-BMW partnership.

An updated Jive, and the Scooty Zest could be the exhibits that fall under the lifecycle activities section, while two new concept vehicles would also break cover at the expo.

TVS has never been short of vehicles and concepts to unveil at the Auto Expo. The Qube scooter, the King Hybrid, X-Fossil and Raptor are a few concepts from previous editions, while production vehicles/launches/announcements include the refreshed Sport, Apache variants and the Flame.

I once saw a photograph of a TVS motorcycle in Autocar India in 2011 and it was carrying the name plate Victor. In 2012, at the Auto Expo, there was an announcement that a new motorcycle with the Victor name would debut by the end of 2012. There was also talk of a new 125cc scooter which would come out at the same time. Then we saw that TVS had an engine with auto gears for better fuel efficiency and it was supposed to be debuting in what has now become Jupiter. No show of that engine as well. At the launch of Jupiter we heard that on 1st Jan, 2014 TVS will show a new iteration of the Scooty. We hear a lot of things, let us see what TVS actually shows and what it will launch.
