The new Honda City has been launched in its second important market, Thailand. Honda Automobile Thailand Co., has launched the sedan with a single petrol engine option.
Powering the City for Thailand is the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine as the Indian model. However, the Thai City's engine is optimised to run on E85 fuel (ethanol blended fuel) as well.
Specifications wise, this engine produces 117 hp at 6,000 rpm and 146 Nm of torque at 4,700 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a stepped CVT with 7-paddle shifts.
Inside, the new City is offered with a beige trim, and an all-black trim is reserved for the top highest variants.
Safety features come in the form of ABS, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, 6 SRS airbags (dual front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags) and a rearview camera with three adjustments.
Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system with smartphone interface, a touchscreen auto AC system, push-start ignition and cruise control.
The City in Thailand is available in six variants priced from 550,000 Baht (INR 10.49 lakhs) to 749,000 Baht (INR 14.29 lakhs).
Honda expects to sell 60,000 units of the City in Thailand per annum.
