The 2014 Honda Jazz which will launch in India this year has been shown in its American spec at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show. Of course, the Americans will call it the 2015 Honda Fit.
Powering the all-new Fit is a direct-injection 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine. This engine makes its debut on the new Fit and produces 130 hp at 6,500 rpm and 154 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. This can be paired either to a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox.
The top-end variant of the Fit will come equipped with features such as Bluetooth connectivity, push-button start, heated wing mirrors, moonroof, heated front seats, Honda's new LaneWatch display and a 7-inch infotainment system.
For the first time, manufacturing of the new Fit will take place in North America at Honda's new Celaya, Mexico plant. This plant has an annual capacity of 200,000 units, and the facility will begin mass production of the Fit next month. Sales of the new Fit in America will commence this spring.
