Ford has shown the 2015 Mustang GT and GT Convertible at the Detroit Motor Show today.
Unveiled last month, the sixth generation of this iconic muscle car will go on sale in the US later this year. The GT variant that you see here is the range-topping model powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 420 bhp and 528 Nm of torque.
While the standard gearbox is a 6-speed manual, customers can also equip their Mustang GT with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Other engine options in the Mustang lineup include a base 3.7-liter V6 which is capable of producing 300 bhp and 365 Nm of torque and an intermediate 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine producing 305 bhp and 406 Nm of torque.
The EcoBoost engine is something new for the Mustang. Also new for the pony is an independent rear suspension, an all-new front perimeter subframe with double-ball joint struts.
