Honda Cars India have just made the price announcement for the all-new 2014 City. Unveiled in late November last year, bookings for the new City also commenced around the same period.
The 2014 City is available with a choice of two engines - a diesel and a petrol. The petrol motor is the familiar 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine from the earlier City, however, Honda's engineers have tuned it to produce 1 PS and 1 Nm more than the outgoing model.
As a result, the petrol City now produces 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission, which is claimed to deliver 17.8 km/l, or with a CVT gearbox which promises higher efficiency at 18 km/l.
The diesel City is powered by the same 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine found in the Amaze and it produces an identical 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque like the Amaze. However, Honda has opted to give the City diesel a 6-speed manual transmission as compared to the 5-speed gearbox of the Amaze. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency of the new City diesel stands at a class-leading 26 km/l.
