Renault Samsung Motors (RSM) commenced bookings of the QM3 (Renault Captur) in Korea on November 20th. Within 7 minutes of the start of booking, the QM3 received 1,000 confirmed orders. Delivery for these 1,000 customers will take place in the middle of this month.
Excluding the initial 1,000, RSM received 4,000 further bookings in the last couple of weeks, however delivery for these customers will take place in the first quarter of 2014.
The QM3 was first shown at this year's Seoul Motor Show in March, where it also won the coveted 'Best Car of the Show' award. RSM have introduced the QM3 with the familiar 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine, which outputs 90 PS at 4,000 rpm and 22.4 kgm of torque at 2,000 rpm. All variants are equipped with a Getrag-made 6-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) as standard, and the company claims an efficiency of 18.5 km/l.
Features such as LED daytime running lights, ABS, EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, Start/Stop system and a media system with Bluetooth, Aux-in and iPod connectivity are standard across the range.
Prices for the QM3 start at 22,500,000 Won (INR 13.21 lakhs) for the SE model and extend up to 24,500,000 Won (INR 14.38 lakhs) for the top-end RE model.
The RSM lineup now consists of the QM3, SM3 (Renault Fluence), SM3 Zero Emissions EV, QM5 (Renault Koleos), SM5 (Renault Latitude) and SM7 (Renault Talisman sold exclusively in China).
