Eagle-eyed readers of Tamil motoring magazine Motor Vikatan have caught the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio facelift on camera. The heavily-camouflaged test mule was spotted near Coimbatore.

Spotted once again near Coimbatore, the Scorpio seems to be undergoing rigorous testing.

The spied mule suggests that from our previous sightings, the Scorpio has been given new headlamps. Given how camouflaged the front fascia is, it is likely that the Scorpio is being handed a refreshed front grille, tinted headlamps and bumpers. The camouflage material makes the Scorpio appear wider and longer, but it's unlikely to happen.

Refreshed headlamps on the test mule suggest that the company has signed off on the design.

On the interior, the test mule looks to have a different dashboard compared to the current Scorpio. While the current model has round dials for the cluster, the test mule has a flatter instrument cluster. The centre console has changed as well, with what looks like a screen - or space allocated for a screen - moving north parallel to the air conditioner vent rather than stay below the vents. The test mule also has a slit above the glovebox.

Mahindra's designers seem to have given the dashboard and the centre console a new face as well.

Given the comprehensive changes between the spotted test mules, it's likely that the design has been signed off on, which is a further indication that the model is up for launch.

The Scorpio's successful run as one of India's most-loved SUV continues with sales going strong even in a sluggish market

Over the last three months, the Scorpio has sold 13,169 units, beating the Renault Duster which did 12,254 units.
