Technical specifications and the brochure of the Datsun Go+ MPV are now available. While it was previously known to us that the Go and the Go+ would be powered by a detuned/retuned version of the Nissan Micra's 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, Nissan did not disclose the power and torque outputs.
In the Go+ MPV, this engine will produce 68 PS and 104 Nm of torque, and will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Go hatchback would very likely have the same specifications as well. We should note here that the Micra Active's 1.2-liter engine was detuned to this power output to increase the efficiency (the Micra Active has an ARAI claimed efficiency of 19.49 km/l).
The Go+, Indonesia's first Datsun car, is a compact, sub-4 meter MPV tailor-made for the Indonesian market. It measures 3,995 mm long, 1,635 mm wide and 1,485 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. According to the brochure, the 5+2 MPV will weigh a mere 794 kg!
We also learn that Nissan will provide ventilated discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear, and the specifications of the tires are 155/70 on 13-inch rims. Needless to say, alloy wheels won't be offered.
The Go+ will be available in 5 colors - Reddish Gold, White Solid, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic and Black Solid. The starting price of the MPV will be below 100 million Rupiah (INR 5.27 lakhs). Datsun models will sell through Nissan dealer showrooms, out of a dedicated section.
In India, the Datsun brand will start with the Go in early 2014, and joined by the Go+ later in the year.
