Yesterday in Jakarta, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) showcased the highest variant of the Mobilio, the Honda Mobilio Prestige. The Indonesian market introduction of the Mobilio will be conducted next year, with deliveries scheduled to commence in February.
The Prestige is visually and technically richer than previously announced variants. Positioned above the S MT, E MT, and E CVT models, the Prestige gets a CVT gearbox, matched to a 1.5-liter petrol engine (which makes 118PS and 144Nm). It is differentiated by a chrome garnish around the foglights, running boards and the rear registration plate, and a new alloy wheel pattern. The variant also features a new rear view camera system and a 2-DIN head unit with a touchscreen.
HPM's Jonfis Fandy spoke to reporters shortly after the unveiling. He said the Prestige would be priced at around Rp 190 million in Jakarta showrooms (10.43 lakh rupees).
Order books for the Mobilio opened last month with over 4,500 units spoken for within a few days. Starting yesterday, customers can also book the Prestige and the variant's deliveries will begin in February or March 2014.
Honda will begin production of the Mobilio early next year at its new West Java plant. Expect the car to be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo, also featuring a 1.5L diesel engine.
