Sources have confirmed to Indian Autos Blog that the Honda Mobilio will be seen at the upcoming Auto Expo in February next year. The Mobilio was revealed in September at the 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show, and until now, Honda has not publicly showcased the LMPV outside Indonesia.

The Mobilio will be seen at the Auto Expo next year.

We also gather that the Mobilio diesel will be powered by the same 1.5-liter EarthDreams diesel engine seen in the Amaze. Whether or not the power and torque outputs would differ is not known to us, however, Honda engineers did the transplantation in Japan and data collection and other inputs came from the Indian team.

The petrol Mobilio announced for Indonesia is powered by the City’s 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine outputting 118 PS and 144 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

The diesel variant will be powered by the 1.5-liter EarthDreams engine.

We have also driven the Mobilio, albeit for a very brief period, around the Twin Ring Motegi racetrack in Japan. The interiors of the test car were still in the prototype stage, but the dashboard is the same as the Amaze. We could notice that the instrument cluster had a blue backlighting, while the Amaze and the Brio feature a red/orange backlighting.

Stay tuned for our initial impressions of this Ertiga challenger.

Looks a bit ugly when viewed in person!

Good one overall. The Amaze is clocking almost 10,000 units per month …this is going to be yet another cracker for the Indian market. I’m pretty sure this would be pitted against the Ertiga…

  • $@!

The Rear looks Nice. Like the Mitsubishi Outlander

But the front looks like the BRIO & AMAZE, wonder why all these manufacturers are following the family design thing.

Change the Headlights a little, That would suffice. They can make it look like the existing CITY.

    Cheers,

Looks like honda is running out of creativity..Rear tail lamp resembles Ecosport and Mitsubhishi outlander..

In my opinion Ertiga looks a better proposition since it was all new top hat design unlike Mobilo..

Honda seems to be in a hurry to launch of bunch of cars and not worried about the brand image..!

Looks like its lot more spacious than the Ertiga. The design elements are much more pronounced and striking in the Mobilio.
I’d have personally preferred a much more aggressive front fascia (which doesn’t mimic the Brio). The rear has more of an SUV stance which is really catchy.
