Announced in September, the 2015 GMC Yukon has its public premiere at the 2013 LA Auto Show. For the 2015 model year, three variants of the Yukon will be made available - the standard Yukon, the Yukon XL and the Yukon Denali.
The Yukon XL has an approximately 14-inch longer wheelbase and is about 20 inches longer overall. This provides greater legroom for third-row passengers and cargo space is nearly double that of the standard Yukon.
Features in the Yukon include forward collision alert, front park assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, front and rear automatic braking, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat which offers directional vibrations to alert the driver about a potential crash.
While the Yukon and the XL variants are powered by the EcoTec3 5.3-liter V8 engine outputting 355 hp and 519 Nm, the Yukon Denali is the flagship variant powered by the 6.2-liter V8 engine developing 420 hp and 610 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The new Yukons will be built at GM’s Arlington, Texas assembly plant, and the first quarter of 2014 will see the vehicles arrive at dealers.
