The 2015 Cadillac Escalade gets its motor show debut at the 2013 LA Auto Show, after the world reveal was conducted in early October this year. Cadillac is calling it a 2015 model as production begins only next spring in Arlington, Texas.
Two versions of the Escalade will be offered initially - the standard and the extended-length ESV edition. The ESV offers a 14-inch longer (355 mm) wheelbase and approximately 20 inches (508 mm) more in overall length. The company says that the space for the third-row passengers has been optimized in this variant, while the luggage capacity is 60% more than the regular Escalade.
In addition to this ESV model, Cadillac will also offer 2WD and 4WD variants of the Escalade. Irrespective of which wheelbase you choose, or whether its a 2WD or 4WD, all variants are powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine with direct injection. Power and torque outputs are rated at 420 hp and 623 Nm respectively. A six-speed automatic transmission is the only gearbox on offer.
All variants of the Escalade come with Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control suspension system as standard. Also part of the standard equipment are a set of 20-inch wheels, which can be upsized to 22-inches optionally.
