The 2014 Fiat 500 1957 Edition is seen at the 2013 LA Auto Show. While the 500 itself is a gorgeous little Italian hatch, this edition builds on it even further by adding 1957-era wheel designs, a Bianco-painted roof and vintage "FIAT" emblems.
Further drama can be found inside thanks to the Premium 'Marrone' leather interior accented with 'Avorio' highlights.
This limited edition 500 is based on the Lounge variant and is available in three colors: Bianco (white), Verde Chiaro (light green) and Celeste (celestial blue). Underneath the hood, Fiat's 1.4-liter MultiAir engine produces 101 bhp and 132 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
While this edition may sound like all show and no go, Fiat will offer a sports suspension and all-season performance tires as standard. A six-speaker, 276-watt Fiat premium audio system with SiriusXM Radio is also included in the package.
This edition of the Fiat 500, as the name suggests, traces back its roots to the Nuova 500 which was launched on July 4, 1957. Between 1957 and 1975, Fiat made exactly 3,893,294 units of the iconic Cinquecento.
Sales for this edition commence next spring and the pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
