Car Design graduates at IED Turin have designed compact MPVs and SUVs in collaboration with Mahindra.

The designs were thesis projects of students in the final semester of the three-year post-diploma course in Transportation Design – Car Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Turin, Italy.

Course coordinator Fulvio Fantolino oversaw the project in collaboration with Mahindra. The project asked students to provide a compact Mahindra SUV and MPV for the European market. The concepts were not restricted in size, and were limited only by their imagination.

The project went through stages such as a brand research and a design research stage to come up with solutions that aligned with the requirements of the Mahindra brand. The proposals submitted to the committee were developed comprehensively (interior and exterior) including a rendition of a 3D video.

The committee selected three concepts – the Shroom by Aldo Maria Sica, the Core by Denald Jasini and Michal Sebastian Ptak, and the Bee by Alex Vasil Imnadze.

The concepts are in a 1:4 scale, and are currently displayed at the IED headquarters in Turin. There’s no word on if or how Mahindra plans to use these designs.

Yikes! May be Mahindra will love these!!

  2. Only the Bee looks good because it’s almost a Hyundai Design!!! Search for Hyundai Blue2 concept, and you’ll see the similarities in the side profile. The front however is different.

Only the bee design is looking good !

    Rest look as Milo said

  4. KP says:

BTW shroom (the second design) is for a Van not a SUV.
reminds me more of VW van

  5. KP says:

Mahindra has kept up with the tradition of over the top & ugly design language for its cars.
