Bajaj Auto Ltd. has launched the Bajaj Discover 100M at a press conference that was held in its corporate office in Akurdi, Pune, today. The 100M is yet another offering from Bajaj in the commuter segment and adds on to its 'Discover' nameplate which already has models ranging from the Discover 100, 100T, 125, 125T and the 125ST.
The 100M, launched with the tagline "Mileage bikes ka naya satya" gets the same four-valve, 102cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine as the 100T. However, where the 100T gets a 5-speed gearbox, Bajaj has chosen a 4-speed unit for the 100M. Power and torque outputs have also been detuned in the interest of fuel economy.
The 100M produces 9.3 PS and 0.92 kgm of torque, which enables it to reach a top speed of 95 kph. The 100M rides on a dual cradle steel frame and gets telescopic forks at the front and dual gas-charged Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear.
Though the 100M sports a petal-type front disc brake, Bajaj will also sell a version without this disc brake, offering only a drum brake instead. The 100M comes with an electric starter as part of its standard equipment.
Speaking about its exteriors, the 100M gets twin pilot lamp, black web-spoked alloy wheels as well as a black finish for the engine and the exhaust.
Bajaj Discover 100M Price:
Bajaj Discover 100M - INR 45,996. The bike is launched in Flame Red, Brilliant Blue and Midnight Black shades (with red decals, blue decals and olive decals)
Note: Price is in ex-Showroom, Delhi.
