With Bajaj all set to bring in the new platform for the Discover series, leaked images of the Discover 100M have now appeared on Autocar India, ahead of the bike’s official launch in Pune on October 15th 2013.
The new Bajaj Discover 100M retains much of its exterior proportions and seems very identical to the current Discover range on sale. Its bikini fairing hosts angular headlights while an unaltered instrument console featuring the dials (speedometer and fuel-gauge) and ride controls are placed right behind it. The commuter sports a tucked-in fuel tank, a well chiseled mid-body sporting catchy graphics and a neatly designed tail section featuring a similar tail lamp assembly and grab rail as seen on the Discover 100T.
The Discover 100M will also sport an electric-start and all-black web-spoke alloy wheels as part of the standard equipment. Based on a dual cradle steel frame, the Discover 100M gets telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged Nitrox rear shocks. Drum brakes for the front and rear wheels will be offered as standard however an optional front disc brake (Petal type) will also be made available.
Powering the Discover 100M is the 102cc 4-stroke motor that drives out 9.3bhp and 9.02Nm of torque, the same 4-valve air-cooled DTS-I engine that is mounted on the Discover 100T. No information on the prices has surfaced however the Discover 100M is likely to be positioned in between the Discover 100 and 100T, with an expected price tag of INR 45,000.
