The pre-bookings for the Nissan Terrano have commenced on September 1, as officially announced by the company during the August 20th unveiling. We also learn from Nissan dealers that the pre-booking amount for the Terrano is INR 50,000. Though Nissan hasn't revealed the prices to their dealers yet, they've been instructed to say that the starting price is below INR 10 lakhs.

An Indian Autos Blog reader has also sent us a brochure of the Terrano, which seems to look as simple as possible mentioning only the variants, features and the colors that would be available.

Nissan will not be offering a base variant of the petrol powered Terrano. Only one petrol variant (dubbed XL) will be on offer and the rest of the variants get their power from the Renault 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine. Nissan will offer the diesel in two states of tune (just like the Duster) of 85PS and 110PS. While the 85PS Terrano gets a 5-speed manual, the 110PS gets a 6-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of features, even the base variant of the Terrano gets a driver airbag as standard (this is not so on the Renault Duster) and Nissan seems to justify every extra penny you've to shell out over the Duster. The Terrano is likely to cost INR 50,000 more than the equivalent Duster.
