Jaguar have revealed their plans for the Frankfurt Motor Show. The British luxury brand will show the C-X17 concept study at the IAA 2013.
The Jaguar C-X17 is nothing but the concept version of the planned SUV, a few early prototypes of which were caught testing in the UK recently. However, there is more to the C-X17 concept than its design. The concept will also introduce Jaguar's new "highly advanced, modular aluminium architecture". The same architecture will also underpin the BMW 3 Series rivaling sedan.
Jaguar themselves say that the concept "illustrates the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture", and that it underpins the "innovative future of the Jaguar brand".
Our source informs us that the Jaguar SUV would commence production in 2015 or by early 2016. India would be among the first international markets for the C-X17 and it would rival the likes of the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.
Apart from the C-X17, Jaguar will also be showing the XJR (which made its debut at this year's New York Auto Show), the XFR-S, the XF Sportbrake and the F-Type at the Frankfurt Motor Show which opens for the media on September 10th.
