The Nissan Terrano was launched on 20 August in India, and bookings open in September. Nissan has planned a media drive program next month, shortly after which the vehicle will hit the market.

Today, Nissan uploaded an image of the Terrano in a white body color, one of the six body colors announced at the launch. Bookings have also apparently opened unofficially according to a report on OnCars.in. Dealerships that are taking orders request a down payment of 50,000 rupees.

The white Terrano is a lower variant, given away by its lack of foglights.

The Terrano is based on the Dacia/Renault Duster, but gets all-new sheet metal to align it with the Nissan design language. Both SUVs share the same cabin, but for minor differences in the dashboard and color. The Terrano would emerge out of the Renault-Nissan alliance's manufacturing plant in Oragadam, Chennai where the Duster is also made.

Though Nissan did not disclose the tech specs of the car during the unveiling, it is learned that the Terrano would come with the same variant mix as the Duster. There would be two diesel options and one petrol option. That spoils the chances of a 4WD or an automatic transmission for now.

We're expecting Nissan to price the Terrano at about 50,000 rupees above Duster variants. As days pass, we should be able to give you more on the car. Stay tuned to IndianAutosBlog.com!
