At the Nissan 360 event held in Irvine, California, the automaker had teased an unnamed concept which is set to make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next year.

The headlamp is a grown-up version of the 370Z’s unit, while the U-Shaped grille feature is present on today’s Micra.

Shiro Nakamura, vice president and chief creative officer of design and brand management, Nissan, says that the new concept previews the brand’s new design direction. Since Nissan is working on the next generation Maxima, it’s expected that the concept in question would preview the upcoming sedan.

Assuming that this concept previews the 2015 Nissan Maxima, we can say that the upcoming car would be much sportier than the current sedan. The whereabouts of the car are unknown except for the fact that it’s currently being developed.

I pray they make this car! It’s beautiful! It almost looks like a 1971 Mustang Mach 1, but with 4 doors. If it looks like this when it comes into production, I will buy one.
