The 2014 Toyota Vios is inching closer to its Malaysian debut. Regular Indian Autos Blog readers know that the car has already started arriving at the stockyards.
Oto.my has uploaded the brochure of the new sedan which made its world debut in Thailand in February this year. To be imported from Thailand, the Vios is one of the best selling sedans in Malaysia.
Malaysia will get the Toyota Vios in five variants – J (MT & AT), E, G and TRD Sportivo. All the variants are powered by Toyota’s tried and tested 1.5 litre 1NZ-FE petrol engine which puts out 109PS and 141 Nm of torque. The transmission options are a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
Standard features include airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX points (to mount child seat), Brake Assist and 15″ alloy wheels. The entry level J makes do with a 4 speaker 2-DIN CD/MP3 player, halogen headlamps and a black interior with fabric seats. The E variant gets a black and grey dual tone interior and a standard audio system which is shared with G and TRD Sportivo.
The G and TRD Sportivo variants offer HID headlamps, 6 speakers for the audio system and leather seats (Red & black combo in TRD Sportivo and ivory shade in G). The optional features include touchscreen multimedia infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, reverse parking camera and voice commands.
The 2014 Toyota Vios is expected to be launched in Malaysia in the month of October. The expected price range is 80,000 Ringgits (around Rs. 14.96 lakhs) to 97,000 Ringgits (around Rs. 18.14 lakhs).
