Through studies, GM found out that the height adjustable seat was the one feature most warranted in the B and B+ segments. None of the Chevrolet mini cars come with this feature until this launch.

When quizzed about the falling sales at a regional product launch recently, Mr. Vikas Jain, sales director of GM India told IndianAutosBlog.com that the Beat's segment had crashed in India and they weren't to blame for it. GM India CEO Mr. Lowell Paddock had asked us to expect more news on the Beat facelift at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Beat, sold as the Spark globally, had received a full cosmetic makeover last year.

The Beat was the first diesel offering in the Indian B1 segment. It uses a three-cylinder version of the Fiat 1.3L Multijet engine that has an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 25.44 kmpl. The petrol engine is an older 1.2-liter unit (18.6kmpl mileage) that is also capable of working on LPG.
