Suzuki will introduce all-wheel drive variant for Swift in Russia this year

Russian auto magazine Avto Sreda has reported that that sales of the Suzuki Swift 4×4 would begin in Russia this year. The Swift is already offered in front-wheel drive, equipped with a 1.2 liter, 94 hp petrol engine in Russia. A 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic are offered as transmission choices. The same engine could be carried forward into the 4WD version.

The magazine also informs readers that the new generation Suzuki SX4 has been planned for Russia this year.

    Given the weather conditions in Russia the 4WD is more practical there but seems impractical in India.
