The previous generation of the venerable Suzuki Swift is still being sold in China just like many other globally discontinued models.
Auto.163.com has caught a modified version of the car which they believe is a 20th anniversary special edition of the Swift in China.
20 years? Well, the Suzuki Cultus a.k.a. Maruti 1000 was sold as the Swift in some markets.
The car features a sporty exterior that gives an appeal of custom aftermarket modifications. Let's start with the new red paint job which is complemented by a contrast white roof. The car sports black skirts and the front bumper gets more attention to detail than the regular car. The foglamp enclosures are highlighted by sharp white inserts.
The sides of the car are the same except for new dual tone alloy wheels and the "20th Anniversary" sticker on one C-pillar. The rear gets roof mounted spoiler and a modified bumper with white accented elements that complement the foglight enclosures. We also expect few sporty touches to its insides.
Under the modified skin, the car would have the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the normal version. The motor develops 102bhp and makes do with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Auto.163.com reports that the Suzuki Swift 20th anniversary special edition will go on sale later this year. We expect the model to be sold in limited numbers.
