Maruti Suzuki is celebrating the first anniversary of the super-hit Ertiga MPV with customers through launching the Maruti Ertiga Feliz special edition. Last week the special edition's brochure scans were uploaded to a Facebook group revealing prematurely what was coming.
Today, through a Facebook album, Maruti themselves have announced the changes or additions to the car in high resolution. The brochure upload confirmed that the model would be available only on the penultimate variants in both petrol (VXi) and diesel (VDi).
Roundup of the additions to the Maruti Ertiga Feliz
- Silver front grille
- Body graphics on the doors
- Silver accent around the foglamps
- Silver outside mirror enclosures
- Rear spoiler
- Interior styling kit
- Back seat pocket organizer
- Beige steering wheel cover
- Reverse parking sensor with a digital display
- New beige color seat covers
- Seat covers have Feliz branding
- Feliz branding car pillows
- New door sill guard
- New floor mats
More than celebrating a birthday, the Feliz also has the ambiguous task of keeping customers distracted from new launches like the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Mahindra Xylo H-Series, which for the features or technology they offer, are priced well.
The Ertiga is a cash cow for Maruti, as its based on the already successful Swift platform. The diesel variants are selling steadily well, while petrol variants are shipped to Thailand and Indonesia, either directly or indirectly, where the model constitutes the top selling family vans.
Maruti recently began supplying the Ertiga to Mazda, which rebadges it as the VX-1 to the Indonesian market.
