Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled the Suzuki Authentics Concept sedan at the Auto Shanghai 2013. The sedan would be positioned in the C Segment, which is the largest in China in terms of production volume.
Suzuki also revealed its plans to produce and distribute the production model by the end of next year and it’ll be manufactured by the Chongqing Changan Suzuki joint venture in China. By selling the new SX4 crossover along with it, which will be made by the same venture, Suzuki will look to expand its market share in China.
The concept could influence the next generation SX4 sedan. With its length of 4.60 m and a wheelbase of 2.75 m, it’s more streamlined in shape and aerodynamically emphasized. The generous use of chrome elements underlines the sporty and elegant appearance of the concept.
Suzuki hasn’t shared the power train details yet but we believe it will have the same engines as the new SX4 crossover. The production version of the car has a very rich chance of entering India to replace the current SX4.
Furthermore, it is expected to be positioned up market than the current model which makes it always interesting and we are looking forward to see how it unfolds.
