The Nissan Friend-ME is a four seat sedan concept which is aimed at tech savvy Chinese youth. The car has been unveiled at the Auto Shanghai 2013.
Nissan says that the car will cater to people with a very different automotive outlook. We can understand what they mean after looking at the car. The futuristic looking concept vehicle is full of bold lines and sculpted surfaces. The rear overhang is short and the front has a protruding grill. The headlamps have a typical Nissan kink on the outer edges.
According to Nissan, the Friend-Me is a creature of the night and is meant to be seen in the bright lights of the cities. Nissan says, the interior is a "carefully considered space designed to give four friends a sense of shared adventure without hierarchy."
Though the company states that the concept has a global scope, its main target audience will be the Chinese youth who are in their mid twenties. Giving equality to all the occupants, all the four seats provide information that are exclusive to drivers in other cars.
An interesting feature is the monolithic center console which is finished in onyx-black finish. Screens visible from each seat blend seamlessly with the surface.
The car is powered by a 2.0 litre PureDrive hybrid powertrain but Nissan haven't shared further details. Neither did they mention anything about the production plans.
