Citroen has exhibited the DS Wild Rubis Concept at the bustling Auto Shanghai 2013 Show.
The latest model to come out of the DS line will have the dimensions as follows: 4.7m in length; 1.95m in width and 1.59m in height with a wheelbase of 2.9m. It is a bold looking car and boasts 21 inch alloy wheels. The frontal portion is reminiscent with the gorgeous Numero 9 concept.
The three-dimensional radiator grille is highlighted with DS emblem with chrome touches on the sides. The grille flows into a catchy full-LED headlights which are surrounded by scrolling indicator lights at the base. The airflow is channeled through the tiny wing at the back through the sleek body lines.
The all-new arrangement of lights at the rear appears to be part of the raised tailgate. The taillight housing is encased in chrome and the foot of the rear tailgate incorporates the twin exhaust pipes.
The color, Ruby Red bodywork changes with the intensity of light. The production version of the DS Wild Rubis will be based on the Citroen DS5 and it is likely to be called DS X7. Both these cars will utilize Chang’an-PSA joint venture facility to get manufactured in China. The homegrown DS5 will debut on the Chinese market in the third quarter of 2013 ahead of DS X7’s release next term.
The concept goes green with a plug-in hybrid system. The powers comes from a 1.6L turbocharged engine and a 75hp electric motor, combined to produce 290hp. The powertrain figures are similar to Numero 9 concept so it’s likely to get from 0-100kph in about 6 seconds.
