2014 Corvette C7 Stingray prices announced in the US

The seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray will be available at a starting price of $51,995 (around Rs. 28.3lakhs) for the base 450hp Stingray Coupe and $56,995 (around Rs. 31.01 lakhs) for the Convertible, GM announced yesterday.
The price increase is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible when compared to the 2013 model. Both prices include a $995 destination charge.
The Detroit automaker has managed to keep price hike at the minimum while including more performance and technology than the sixth-generation Corvette, quite amazing.
Interestingly, the completely revived 2014 ‘Vette will share only two parts with the outgoing model. Chevrolet will be targeting younger buyers to broaden its audience.
Under the hood, the car gets a 6.2 litre V8 engine good enough for 450hp and can switch four cylinders off on the highway to save fuel. These base variant prices doesn’t tell the whole story.
For instance, the coupe displayed at the Detroit Auto Show would cost $73,360 (39.92lakhs). Just to mention a few, it includes optional extras such as the Z51 Performance Package, Magnetic Ride Control option, competition sport seats and so on. For the 3LT trim level with full leather interior an extra $8,005 has to be paid over the base price.
Trackday lovers will prefer the Z51 package, which includes 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, shorter gear ratios, electronic limited-slip differential and bigger brake rotors. The Z51 performance package will help the Stingray do 0-60mph in under four seconds and pull a 1.0 g lateral acceleration in corners.
Even though the fully-loaded C7 sounds like a lot, it is competitively priced against the likes of the Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911. The base coupe and convertible will be mated to a seven-speed manual transmission and will have standard features like Bose audio and stylish HID headlight with LED running lights.
