A little birdie tells Indian Autos Blog that Jeep will launch in India around the festival season time, in the month of October to be precise. During last year's press conference to announce the launch of the Jeep brand in India, Mr. Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep brand said the first two models, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, would be brought into India during the third quarter of the year.
At Tamil Nadu's first independent Fiat dealership inauguration, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, Managing Director of Chrysler India informed IAB that the company waited to get the Cherokee facelift which had its first public outing at the Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS 2013) in January this year. Jeep test mules have been spotted around Pune. A two-door Wrangler, a five-door Wrangler and a Cherokee were spotted repeatedly by Indian Autos Blog readers. The most recent spotting was by our reader, Mr. Shatrughan Saxena from Pune who caught the smaller Wrangler on test.
Following the launch of the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler, Jeep will sell a B-Segment SUV in 2015 and follow it up with the launch of a C-Segment SUV in 2016. Jeep plans to have 82 dealers in place by then.
