Tata Motors is a Geneva Motor Show regular but this time the Indian auto maker has got nothing new to show.
Last year, the company came up with the interesting Nano Megapixel concept which previewed the Europe spec Nano. While we expected an all new concept at the show floor, we were greeted with two familiar models - the Tata Aria and Tata Safari Storme Mountain Rescue.
Tata Aria
The Tata Aria has been on sale in India for over a couple for years now. Its European debut comes late but eying on export markets is the only way for Tata Motors to derisk the Aria since the 7 seat MPV is struggling in the domestic market, in spite of being well engineered.
The car is powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine which puts out 140 PS of power 320 Nm of torque. The ladder frame chassis is made using hydro-form technology which saves weight.
The European version gets new headlamps and tail lamps along with an automatic gearbox.
Tata Safari Storme Mountain Rescue
The Tata Safari Storme Mountain Rescue is an interesting concept which would be apt for the snow covered nations of Europe.
The SUV gets meaty off road tires covered by metal chains so that it can grip on showy surfaces.
It also has a sexy red paint so that it is clearly visible in snow.
It also features a different front bumper with a winch, massive flash lights and snorkel air intake. On top, you can see a rooftop cargo box for your essential supplies. The rear has not been changed much.
