Two copies of the 2014 Dacia Duster with a number of features borrowed from new Dacia models were photographed in Vatra Dornei, Romania. The Dacia Duster facelift, according to this report, could be present at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Both test cars were 1.5 dCi 4x4 variants, signified by badges on the tail gate. There are no differences to the exterior of these mules.

Most changes are, however, in the interior, where we see parts from the Lodgy, Dokker and the new Logan. An updated audio interface (based on the unit from the Fluence facelift) with controls on the steering column are seen. Renault India offers the column-mounted unit already, but the audio system seen on the mule is a new. It can play files from CD/MP3/USB/Bluetooth sources.

It is also to be noted that the instrument binnacle has now become a trinacle (three circles) and has chrome outlining.

Moreover, the images show Dacia testing a cruise control system, and the ECO driving mode that was installed on recent Dacia models. Test models were fitted speed toggle buttons near the parking brake, and the primary controls, like on the Fluence, is expected to sit on the circumference of the steering wheel.

Unfortunately, the dashboard of the car stays as it is, though Pro Motor hopes to see a version similar to the South American and Indian models in the future. The dashboard and seats for the Indian Duster were redesigned by the Renault Mumbai design studio. Renault India also developed a rear air-conditioning unit specially for our market.

Will the new parts boil down to the Indian Duster when Renault decides to upgrade it on the face of stiffening competition?
