The Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is not far away from gracing the showrooms in India but in the meanwhile its donor model the Wuling Hongguang is set to receive a minor facelift in China.
The Wuling Hongguang is one of the best selling MPVs in its class in China and the Chinese media caught the facelifted version of the low cost MPV testing in China. The Hongguang gets a slight makeover to its exterior for the 2013 model year.
The facelifted car dons a new chrome outlined front grill which has a bold body colored strip with honeycomb mesh background. The new grill is akin to the ones of the Sail twins and can adopt Chevy's bow tie badge without having to be redesigned.
The front bumper is also new and now gets a silver scruff plate to spruce up the things. There is also new, larger fog lamps and new alloy wheel design.
The rear of the car features a wider windshield which now runs throughout the breadth of the car and the D-pillar is no longer visible when you look from the rear. The tail lamp cluster is revised and is now a little longer than the previous car. The scruff plate is present in the rear too.
While there is no news about the changes to the interior, the Hongguang's 1.4 litre 102 bhp petrol engine will be replaced by a more powerful 111 bhp 1.5 litre motor. The entry level variant will continue to use the 1.2 litre 86 bhp petrol engine.
The Indian version of the MPV however is not expected to be launched in the facelifted guise since GM India is at the cusp of launching the car here and the surplus supply of spyshots suggest that the Enjoy adopts the current Hongguang's design.
While the facelifted Wuling Hongguang is expected to be launched in China by first half of this year, GM India could've reserved the facelift for a later stage.
