Škoda Auto has redesigned its corporate logo in 2011 in order to mark the company's new phase of progress and growth.
The Škoda Citigo was the first car to bear the refreshed logo and it was closely followed by the European Rapid. The Czech automaker had stated that the new logo will be progressively used in their new range of vehicles.
Škoda has now announced that the new logo will feature in the Škoda Fabia and Fabia Roomster models. In addition to the new logo, Škoda lettering will appear on the rear hatch of the Fabia and Roomster for the first time in the model's history.
When compared to the existing logo, the new winged arrow, finished in chrome with a matte black background feels significantly fresher and more modern. The current laurel wreath and integrated Škoda lettering will no longer be included in the new logo as designers focused only on essentials.
Apart from the new look logo, the variant name and additional designations like the TDI or TSI will adopt a new font style to bring in more freshness to the brand.
The new logo will enjoy pride of its place on the bonnet, at the rear, on the center of the wheels, on the steering wheel, the engine cover and on the vehicle key.
The new logo signifies Škoda's growth phase and the marque targets to sell around 1.5 million units per year by 2018.
Skoda India hasn't confirmed when the Fabia and Rapid would get this feature, perhaps they would trickle into the whole family once the 2013 Octavia debuts the new corporate language?
