GM India's immediate goal is to ship the Chevrolet Sail sedan into dealerships and seal the gap that sets the Sail U-VA and the Cruze wide apart. Dispatch of the first lot of cars to dealerships is finished and launches will be held starting from the 1st of February.

The Optra Magnum is discontinued and the Aveo sedan has also been laid to rest leaving wide open spaces in GM India's lineup in the high-volume B- and C-Segment.

Once the Sail sedan is out of the way, GM India moves on to the next launch - the Chevrolet Enjoy - expected in dealerships in March or April.

The Chevrolet Enjoy competes with the Maruti Ertiga and Mahindra Xylo. It relies on the 1.3-liter Fiat diesel engine, without a VGT, to turn its wheels. The transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox. This is a no-frills van, so don't expect any state of the art technologies or gizmos on board.

These spyshots were taken by Mr. Rituraj.S.Dingare, the configuration he's spotted is the 2+2+3 (the other one being the 2+3+3). The Enjoy is originally a Chinese van sold as the Hongguang, developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling JV. The product is about three years old now and has gone in for a facelift in China. In India we won't get the updated model this year, which is a bit disappointing.

The Enjoy's one of China's best selling vehicles, but its mediocre looks and basic interior will find the job challenging to excite the prospective customer of the Ertiga.
