It is not even a week since the all new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show and now the images of its topless sibling have allegedly surfaced on the web.

The pictures were uploaded by Theautoinsider.com with the claim that it is not a render but a real image. The convertible version of the Corvette sacrifices the Z51 rear spoiler and also is content with smaller wheels which appears to be either 18" or 19".

The rest of the design features of the car remain true to the hardtop Stingray that was showcased at Detroit. However, its doubtful whether Chevy will consider a convertible since the hardtop Corvette comes with removable roof and hence can provide an air- on-the-hair motoring experience on its own.

Carscoop.blogspot.com reports that these images are a result of skillful editing and the images depict a future die cast scale model by 'Maisto'. The guys even managed to find a prototype image of the hardtop Stingray whose photo angle is a perfect match to the image of the convertible Corvette Stingray (the image which shows the rear three quarter of the car).

While it can't be ascertained whether Chevy will build a convertible Corvette Stingray or not, but if they decide to do one, it would be looking like this.
