The planned high-end variant of the Force One with 4x4 system was eluding us so far but not any more.
Our regular readers know that Force Motors is preparing for a full fledged plunge into the personal car market with two new variants of the Force One SUV apart from bringing in a premium MPV based on the Mercedes Viano and renewing the Force Gurkha off roader.
The Force One was the first attempt at the premium passenger vehicle market by the Pune based automobile manufacturer who is known for its Traveller and Trax range of people carriers. On its first year, the SUV managed to clock 2,000 units against a target of 4,000.
Nevertheless, the sales have given the company enough confidence to step into the second year with two more variants of the car. One of those variants will be a bare bones low cost version while the other will be more upmarket that the current version.
We already brought you the spyshots of the low cost variant of the One without the body colored fittings and a BS3 engine (inset). Here is the high end variant of the SUV which, as we expected, comes with the 4x4 system.
The car proclaims its inner mechanicals through the badges on the front fender and the tail gate. Except that there are absolutely no visual changes on the Force One 4x4 version.
The Force One is powered by a Mercedes sourced 2.2 litre FM Tech diesel engine which produces 141PS and 321 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to continue in the same state of tune under the hood of the 4x4 version.
The year 2013 is going to be an eventful year for Force Motors as the company has planned an investment of around Rs. 1000 crore in a bid to become a mainstream car manufacturer.
