The all new Range Rover scores 5 stars at Euro-NCAP crash tests

The new Range Rover has scored the maximum number of stars at the Euro-NCAP crash tests.

The new Range Rover is a huge technical leap from the previous generation of the car as for as the chassis in concerned. The all aluminium monocoque is not only a commendable 420 kg lighter but it's also significantly stronger than the previous one.

The results of the NCAP crash tests adds another feather to the new Range Rover's hat. The tech laden SUV is receiving rave reviews wherever it goes.

According to the Euro-NCAP tests, the Rangie scored an excellent 91% for adult occupant protection, 84% for child occupant protection, 63% for pedestrian protection and 86% for the safety assists systems installed in the car.

It was observed that under a severe side pole crash test, the Range Rover offered only marginal protection to the front seat occupant's chest. Similarly the protection offered by the seat back and the seat restraint (seat belt) against whiplash injury in the event of rear collision was also marginal.

The luxury SUV however offered exceptional child occupant protection in all conditions and reasonable pedestrian protection.
