Mahindra XUV500 for Australia front fasciaMahindra XUV500 is one product which nailed the two most important factors an Indian customer wants, the looks and the value for money.

Mahindra was overwhelmed by the response for the XUV500 when they commenced bookings for the all wheel drive version last year. The SUV clocked 8000 orders in no time and hence the company was left with no other option other than closing the bookings immediately.

The bookings were even more monumental when M&M opened order books for the FWD variant. 25,000 bookings in just ten days had prompted for an immediate expansion of production capacity. Now that the capacity constraints are sorted out and the exports have started, bookings for the all wheel drive version are reopened.

The customers across India can order their XUV500 AWD with a booking amount of Rs. 40,000. The waiting period which was almost half an year has been brought down to two months.

The power of 140 bhp comes from the familiar 2.2 litre mHawk turbo diesel engine. The 330 Nm of torque is calculatedly distributed to the four wheels via a Borg Warner four wheel drive system.

With the Tata Safari Storme around the corner, the reopening of bookings came in a right time so as to keep the potential buyers interested in the Cheetah from Mahindra.
