Hyundai HB20, which is i20’s Brazilian cousin with some extra fluidic design genes, is very close to its official launch in the Brazilian market. Basically it is almost equivalent to the i20, except for the appearance. We’ve already brought to you a bunch of pics and videos earlier.
Now, the good chaps at NoticiasAutomotivas have caught one more roaming the streets without any camouflage. The HB20, which is a Brazil-only model, looks much sharper and muscular than the fluidic Hyundai i20 we get in India.
The HB20 is powered by 3-cylinder, 1L gasoline engine that will provide 80hp and a 4-cylinder and a 1.6L engine that would provide an output of around 140hp. As for the transmission - a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed auto gearbox is on the cards.
The dealers have stated that the prices would start from BRL 27790 (approx. Rs.7.5 Lakhs) and move upto BRL 34990 (approx. Rs.9.5 Lakhs).
HB20 is said to be a very important model for Hyundai in the Brazilian market and thus they are leaving no stone unturned for its promotion. After releasing quite a few teaser videos and pics, the company is said to be working on for creating an exclusive network for the HB20. Separate showrooms might be started to showcase the HB20 and other models that will come in the future.
HB20 is expected to see an October launch, though it seems the car is almost ready to hit the showrooms anytime. More details and specifications would surface soon.
