Our eagle-eyed follower Purshottam Tendolkar spotted a test mule of the Mahindra mini Xylo in Belgaum, Karnataka, last week during a road trip.
The version seen here comes from an earlier batch of mules that lack the facelifted model's appearances. The mini Xylo graces showroom floors during Diwali, according to sources with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine good for 70bhp/160Nm. It wears the new Xylo's face.
Connections have been drawn to the Wagon R and the mini Xylo's on the lips of the would-be Ertiga owner. The anticipation created by Mahindra products in recent times show that consumers are not out there to buy a brand. If Mahindra can price the mini Xylo between 4.5-6 lakh rupees, they could repeat the success of the XUV500, through value-selling.
The looks of the mini Xylo could be the downside of its self-introduction due to the awkward length to height ratio, but the value it offers could make that look insignificant. In these photographs one can see how the mini Xylo dwarfs the Polo and Swift parked alongside it.
