No, we are not talking about the larger 2-liter diesel engine from the Koleos, that's not the engine or launch in question.

The currently serving 1.5-liter K9K DCI engine has received upgrades to produce outputs of 110 PS/240 Nm. The fuel economy of the new Renault Fluence E4D stands at 20.4kmpl (ARAI figures). It is mated to the same 6-speed manual transmission. The higher power is due to the introduction of a new Variable Geometric Turbocharger. The air intake path has been simplified to aid turbo performance. According to Renault, the low inertia turbo has improved response at low engine speeds.

The features available previously on the low-power E4D has tagged along on the new launch. This means the Fluence E4 diesel is generously equipped with ABS, EBD, ESP, ASR, front dual airbags, chest-level airbags, electrically foldable ORVMs, leather seats, dual zone air-conditioning, 60:40 split seats, etc.

The Fluence comes with a warranty of 4 years/80000km under "Renault Complete Care" which the company claims is globally benchmarked.
