Regular readers of IndianAutosBlog.com were the first to learn about the MY2012 plans for Linea and Punto. Fiat India told us both cars receive new features but no cosmetic revisions.
Today in another IAB Exclusive, we have the entire details for you on what these feature add-ons are.
These updated Fiats will be launched on the 3rd of January, 2012. The company is not taking part in the Auto Expo and is may not launch any mass market models in 2012. New launches could follow after Fiat’s stand-alone dealer network is ready. Fiat is setting up as many as 20 new dealerships, reserved exclusively for Fiat products. It has revealed that a a car, smaller than Palio, powered by a 1-liter petrol engine is under development.

Are you sure about the ground clearance figures??
I ask because at the values quoted it will shame a few SUV/MUVs in the market.
Also, I doubt the Punto or the Linea would actually look good with such high ground clearance. GC of 170-175mm is more than good enough.
Also, FIAT allowed for free upgrades to the cooling system, for their early petrol cars. The diesel cars never had any problems with cooling. The FIAT Climate Control system has one big issue though, is that it just does not go into recirc mode on its own, but stays in fresh air mode. This makes cooling in fully automatic mode very slow.
So overall, it seems like FIAT continue to be a bit stupid and seem to be addressing issues which weren’t really big concerns of the customer’s in the first place.
hmm, Some minor add ons. I wish they change the dash-design the straight central console looks pane and boring with the dull grey color
